Cognitive Science Academics
The Cognitive Science Program offers both a major and a minor.
The major in cognitive science is intended
to prepare students for graduate training in cognitive science and
related disciplines or to work in the information sciences. 39 credits
at the 200-level are required, including courses from four different
academic departments. Although 100-level courses do not count toward
the major, several provide excellent preparation, including CSE 134,
Ling 101, Phil 101, or Psych 132.
The minor
in cognitive science is perfect for students majoring in one
of the affiliated disciplines who wish to broaden their experience
with coursework in other cognitive science fields. 15 credits at the
200-level are required, with no more than 6 credits coming from coursework
in any one department.
Students interested in the major or minor should
contact Prof. Letty Naigles,
Director of Undergraduate Studies in Cognitive Science. |
