Disjunctivism is the view, associated with J. M. Hinton, Paul Snowdon, John McDowell, and Mike Martin, that there is no mental element common to a veridical perception and a subjectively indistinguishable illusion and/or hallucination. The paper discusses the motivations for disjunctivism, and argues against it.
